Two talented teams from Middlesex University were awarded silver medals in the WorldSkills UK National Competition Finals, the UK’s largest technical skills and careers event, in Birmingham on 19 November.
Middlesex students Andrej Lieskovsky and Piotr Nowicki secured silver in the mechatronics (higher) category while Eva Blessing Onyeulo and Rahul Vekaria claimed silver in the robotics category.
“It’s a great experience to be able to compete with the UK's top mechatronics teams in a national competition and I hope that potential future employers will look at it the same way” - Andrej Lieskovsky, BEng Mechatronics.

Middlesex has been selected as an official partner of Young Careers – a new government backed pilot designed to shape the future of careers advice in England.
The initiative is being run locally by public services provider Reed in Partnership and focusses on strengthening links between business and education to improve careers guidance given in schools.
The aim is to leave young people inspired and informed around their career opportunities. We will be working closely with local schools to deliver in-depth and impartial advice around careers, including attendance at an on campus STEM Festival and access to a careers assessment tool.
